Little Things
This new series of paintings focuses on my personal experience of life at the moment. Recently I have been working to support members of my community whose daily challenges are a constant reminder of the strength of the human spirit. These interactions fill my heart with joy and highlight the importance of maintaining our independence and being able to do the little things in life.
In these painting compositions I bring opposites together; contrasting colours, collage and paint, density of paint in line and mass together with structured pattern and loose gestural marks. Stories of colour and form that skip around my daily life and show a diversity of pictorial elements that provide the viewer with an escape from the day to day even if it is just for a moment.
